On Friday we will be heading to the mountains and I CANNOT WAIT! So yesterday I started thinking about what to pack. The weather looks like it is going to be a bit mixed while we are away but it’s not going to be cold.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some long, sunny lunches with the occasional bottle of rose!

Our annual ski holiday is an amazing combination of family time & fun usually with a bit of action thrown in… hmmm maybe I should rephrase that?! I’ve skied since I was a child but learnt to snowboard when J and I met and continue to do so, although I keep saying I’m going to get my skis back on, snowboarding now seems to be so last season! We adore the mountains, so much so we were married in Zermatt. The boys have been on skis since they were three and now generally spend their holidays whizzing past us! This year we are going with great old school friends so I have no doubt we will have a  ball!

Anyway I thought I would put together a very quick list of a few new things that I have gathered together for our trip this year. As it is so late in the season some of what I have bought is now in the sale so it’s a great time to buy. I will be taking all my usual staples; sweaters, jeans, Stans and a few casual tops and t-shirts but wont bore you with those as you’ve probably seen them a million times. I will be TRYING to take only the essentials.

1. Moncler Ski Jacket

I procrastinated for weeks about whether to invest in this. I had longed for one and after a lot of looking and trying on I eventually went for it and bought it online from Moncler. I have to say, I am very pleased I did as I absolutely love it and can’t wait to wear it. I bought it last year and as the ski season is almost over I’ve struggled to find a similar one in stock anywhere but there is a Moncler store at Bicester Village which might be worth a look in. Alternatively Vestiaire Collective often has some great secondhand Moncler jackets.

2. Perfect Moment Imok Pants

I was delighted when I saw these with 40% off in the Matches Fashion ski sale. There are still a few left so if you are after a pair be quick!

3. Sweaty Betty base layers

Very annoyingly I bought these back in January full price as I was worried they would sell out. They are now both on sale! I will definitely wear the leggings but it looks like it might be too warm for the top.

4. Baukjen Alara Top

I think this top will be great with my red ski trousers & cream jacket. The fit is amazing!

5. Wyse cashmere sweater from Style Lyrical

If you read my last blog this is one of the tops I kept. It will be really handy to travel in and is beautifully soft and comfortable to wear in the evenings.

6. Ray-ban Folding Wayfarer Sunglasses

I can’t live without these. I have tried so many different sunglasses but keep coming back to the trusty wayfarers. They are particularly great as they are robust in the hands of little people. The coolest thing is if you buy online you can customise them. My latest pair are the folding wayfarers which hopefully will be less likely to get bashed around in my jacket pocket.

7. Miranda Dunn Faux Fur Gilet

And last but by no means least, I am so excited that I will very soon be taking delivery of a cream Miranda Dunn faux fur gilet (thanks Chloe for the inspiration). I can’t wait to receive it and know that it will be perfect in the mountains! No pictures yet but keep an eye out on Instagram for its first outing. Knowing how much I love my Navy MD coat, I am certain that this will be a new favourite wardrobe addition. If interested email miranda@mirandadunn.com

My gold Giftpop wash bag  (which comes inside the tote) will be filled with lots of lovely goodies including;

1. Aurelia hand cream which I use about 10 times a day and don’t leave home without.

2. Aurelia Firm and Revitalise body Oil. I have been using this on a daily basis as summer approaches to try to get my skin in slightly better condition to reveal!

3. Pureology Conditioner this is the best conditioner I have ever used. It is great for fine hair that gets tangled when wet.

4. Votary Cleansing Oil, Night Oil and Pillow Spray

Recently I have become an oil convert. I adore these products and will be taking all of them with me.

I often seem to have very strange dreams when we are skiing. I would love to blame them on the altitude but I suspect it is more to do with the quantity of Genepi that is consumed! Hopefully the pillow spray will ensure a restful night.

5. Eve Lom Daily Protection SPF 50

I always wear a high SPF on my face to try to prevent even more wrinkles appearing. This one was recommended by a friend so am looking forward to trying it.

Roll on Friday. See you on the other side!
